This policy explains what information Backroom Ops collects when you use backroomops.co.nz and how we use it.

Who we are

Backroom Ops is a Shopify Operator service based in Hamilton, New Zealand. Contact: hello@backroomops.co.nz or emma@backroomops.co.nz.

What we collect

  • Diagnostic / contact form. Name, email, Shopify store URL, and optional note you submit, so we can reply and book a Google Meet.
  • Booking requests. When you request a call, we store the details you enter (name, email, website, note and chosen times) to arrange the call, and use them for nothing else. We also use Google Analytics and, if you arrive from an ad, Meta (Facebook) to see which pages and ads lead to a booking request. We do not send your name, email or the note you write to those services. A one-way hash of your IP address is kept for up to two hours to block spam.
  • Email. If you email us at hello@ or emma@, we process that correspondence to respond.
  • Hosting / security logs. The site is served via Cloudflare, which may process standard technical data (IP, user agent, request timing) for delivery and security.
  • Analytics / ads. We may use Google services (Search Console, and Google AdSense) which can set cookies subject to Google’s policies. We do not sell your personal information.

Advertising and cookies

This site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies (and similar technologies) to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings, and you can learn more about third-party cookies at aboutads.info. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use contact-form or email contents to build advertising profiles.

Advertising and measurement

Google Tag Manager loads Google Analytics on this site. If we run ads, the same container can load a Meta pixel. A booking request can be counted as a lead. Test visits are marked so they can be left out of reports.

How we use it

To reply to enquiries, run diagnostics, deliver the Operator service if you engage us, improve the site, and meet legal obligations.

Sharing

We use processors that help us operate (Cloudflare; Google for Meet, email, and optionally AdSense/Search Console). We do not sell personal data.

Retention

Enquiry details are kept as long as needed to handle your request and ordinary business records, then deleted or archived when no longer required.

Your choices

Email us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you from site enquiries, subject to any legal retention needs.
